The fifth and final regular meeting for the EU/RFCS funded project On-line slag composition analysis for electric arc furnaces (OSCANEAF) was held in Siegen, Germany this week. The meeting was hosted by one of the six participants, industrial partner Deutsche Edelstahlwerke. The ultimate aim of the project has been the development of a continuous measurement system for EAF slag component analysis. Luxmet, as an expert in optical emission spectroscopy for industrial processes has a key role in the project. The industrial testing of the system will be concluded this spring at the ladle furnace in Siegen.
