Luxmet’s ArcSpec system has been installed to the Electric Arc Furnace at Ovako Imatra steelworks’ carbon steel manufacturing process. ArcSpec enables e.g. the accurate timing of the oxygen and carbon injection to start the foaming in the carbon steelmaking EAF process, resulting in significant energy savings.
Ovako Imatra steelworks produces round and square steelbars with capacity of 300,000 tonnes. Ovako Group AB employs approx. 2,700 professionals globally.
